What we collect when you use this site or buy from us, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are
MotorHQ Ltd is the controller of your personal data. You can contact us at hello@motorhq.co.uk, on 0113 496 0123, or at Unit 4, Fairfield Trade Park, Leeds LS11 8TH.
What we collect
- What you send us through a form: your name, phone number, email, postcode, your message, and details and photos of any car you want to sell or part exchange.
- Records of our conversations with you, viewings you book, and cars you buy or sell to us, including invoices.
- Anonymous visit statistics: which pages are viewed, the site that referred you, and the type of device. We don't use cookies for this and we don't store your IP address.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and arrange viewings, valuations and sales. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and performing the contract.
- To keep records we have to keep by law, such as sales invoices and VAT records. The lawful basis is legal obligation.
- To understand how the business is doing, such as which adverts lead to enquiries. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running the business, using the minimum data needed.
- If you tick the box asking us to tell you about similar cars, we'll contact you about stock. You can tell us to stop at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers to run the business: website hosting, email delivery, and the DVLA and DVSA vehicle lookup services when you give us a registration. If you buy a car, we notify the DVLA of the change of keeper. We'll share data with the police or other authorities where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to a sale are deleted after two years. Sales records and invoices are kept for six years after the end of the financial year, as required for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email hello@motorhq.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
